Two CHASS Faculty Members Named University Scholars

Two CHASS faculty members were among the inaugural group of  University Faculty Scholars recently named by Chancellor Woodson. Ann Ross, professor of anthropology, and Lori Foster Thompson, professor of psychology, won the award along with 22 other promising academic leaders.

The program aims to strengthen the university’s commitment to faculty excellence by rewarding each scholar with $10,000 for each of the next five years to support their academic endeavors. “Investing in retaining and attracting the best faculty to teach our students and lead innovative research that improves lives and enhances the state’s economy is a key strategic goal for NC State,” Woodson says.

The University Faculty Scholars program is made possible through the generosity of Jim and Ann Goodnight and the William R. Kenan Jr. Charitable Trust.
