Two CHASS Faculty Named Distinguished Professors

NC State named two faculty members as Distinguished Professors in 2013, and both are from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Congratulations to Professor of Religious Studies William Adler and Professor of History David Gilmartin.

Making Good Cops Better

The college's Administrative Officers Management Program is designed to develop management and leadership skills among law enforcement personnel. Since it launched in 1989, AOMP has graduated more than 1,700 officers from 140 different agencies and 13 different states. The most recent class comprised more than 365 years of law enforcement experience.

CHASS Staff Awards 2013

The college held its annual Awards of Excellence luncheon to recognize and honor CHASS staff, whose efforts, competence, and enthusiasm keep the college humming. Nominations for the Awards for Excellence are based on achievement in outstanding service, innovation, public service, safety, heroism, and human relations.

2013 Faculty Awards

Faculty from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences were recently recognized for outstanding accomplishments in teaching, advising, research and engagement at an awards ceremony and reception in Caldwell Lounge. "As we mark our 50th year as a distinct college, we continue to come into our own, as is reflected in our faculty's accomplishments," said CHASS Dean Jeff Braden. "The scholarship, commitment, and passion represented by these awards demonstrate the breadth of excellence in our faculty."

CHASS Fest

Students, faculty, and staff filled the patio outside Caldwell Hall for CHASS Fest — a multidisciplinary celebration organized by the Dean's Office, the CHASS Council, and CHASS students.
