Spring Symposium 2014

A World Where All People Matter: Future Trends in Practice with Older Adults

March 26, 2014
12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
McKimmon Conference & Training Center

Social Workers, Educators, Human Services Professionals and Community Members are invited to attend our annual Spring Symposium on March 26, 2014. As the United States is experiencing growth in the number of older adults in our society, so too are we in North Carolina. The enormous increase in life expectancy is causing a shift in how social workers are preparing for practice with aging baby-boomers. Demographic trends, lifestyle dynamics, health and well-being, are important practice considerations to ensure optimal quality of life for all people. Transformative approaches, knowledge, skills and values that are specifically focused on older adults are essential components of this Spring Symposium.

Participants will:
(1) Discuss trends and transitions in older adulthood
(2) Explore practice models with diverse groups
(3) Identify resources for quality of life across the life course

Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) and certificates of attendance will be offered. Light refreshments will be provided.

Registration begins February 7, 2014. To register, please visit: go.ncsu.edu/spring_symposium
