Dr. Carol Rahmani (BA ’71, MS ’75, PhD ’81, Psychology) has established an endowed fund in CHASS to support fellowships for graduate students. The Carol H. Rahmani Scholarship is part of a larger gift that supports NC State University. Dr. Rahmani spent her professional career counseling staff, students, and parents in the Wake County schools.
Carol and her husband, Abdul Rahmani (BS ’66, MS ’68, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering) first met at an NC State football game. They were ardent about NC State football as well as their respective academic homes. They always meant to make a gift to their alma mater, but Abdul died in 2008 before they could carry out their intentions. Carol was determined to see their plans through. She worked with NC State’s Office of Gift Planning to establish four endowments from her estate that match her and her husband’s interests: the Carol H. Rahmani Scholarship will provide financial support for Psychology graduate students; the Abdul M. Rahmani Scholarship will aid MAE students; a football scholarship endowment with the Wolfpack Club will benefit student athletes; and a final endowment will support the university’s Encore Program for Lifelong Enrichment.
“We are so grateful to Dr. Rahmani and others whose bequests will support students for many generations to come,” says Marcy Engler, CHASS director of development.
