Holiday Food Drive Raises 650 Pounds for Feed the Pack Food Pantry
Faculty and staff from across NC State's campus provided a much-needed boost to an on-campus food pantry this holiday season. Donors gave nearly 650 pounds of food for the 2015 College of Humanities and Social Sciences food drive benefiting Feed the Pack: The Food Pantry at NC State.

Communication, political science double-major named 2016 Dean for a Day
For one day in January, Humanities and Social Sciences student Courtney Ross and Dean Jeff Braden will walk in each other’s shoes. The college has announced that Ross, a senior political science and communication double-major, will serve as its 2016 Dean for a Day.

Dean’s Scholar program expands
Aspiring to be osteoarchaeologists, federal prosecutors and museum curators, the latest cohort of Humanities and Social Sciences Dean’s Scholars have big plans for the future. Thanks to contributions from college donors, the seven recipients of this year’s Dean’s Scholar Award can also plan on being something else — experiential learners.

Humanities research shares national stage at Congressional reception
NC State’s purposeful work in the humanities was highlighted on the national stage Tuesday during a Congressional reception in Washington. Congressman David Price invited members of NC State’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences to discuss their latest research at the event, held in honor of the 50th anniversary of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
