The college held its annual staff awards luncheon April 20 to recognize and celebrate Humanities and Social Sciences staff. Eight staff members were nominated for awards for excellence. The college also recognized staff members who have reached milestone years in their careers with the state.
Staff Celebrated, Thanked at Annual Event
The college held its annual Awards for Excellence luncheon April 19 to recognize and celebrate Humanities and Social Sciences staff. Seven staff members were nominated by their peers or supervisors for the college's 2016 Awards for Excellence. Nominations were based on achievement in outstanding service, innovation, public service, safety, heroism and human relations. During the luncheon, the college also recognized noted staff members who have reached milestone years in their careers with the state.
Holiday Food Drive Raises 650 Pounds for Feed the Pack Food Pantry
Faculty and staff from across NC State's campus provided a much-needed boost to an on-campus food pantry this holiday season. Donors gave nearly 650 pounds of food for the 2015 College of Humanities and Social Sciences food drive benefiting Feed the Pack: The Food Pantry at NC State.
PBS Selects Cherokee Language Film for National Distribution
This award-winning documentary about the Cherokee language, created by NC State linguistics professor Walt Wolfram and his colleagues in the North Carolina Language and Life Project, was recently selected for national distribution by PBS.
