Social Justice in Our Communities Symposium
Come examine issues of injustice and inequities and the impact social issues have on communities, particularly for people of color and youth of color in our schools. A panel of local community leaders, faculty members and administrators will share their professional experiences and discuss how we can take action to advocate against injustices that occur in our society. Panelists include Katherine Mellen Charron, NC State associate professor of History; David Reese of the East Durham Children's Initiative; James E. Ford of Public Schools Forum NC; Dr. Erin Banks, Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity at NC State; and attorney C. Scott Holmes, Civil Litigation Clinic, NC Central University School of Law.
