Think Tank: Integrating Citizen Science into University Courses
- This event has passed.
We’re inviting you to a think tank to generate new ideas for incorporating citizen science into undergraduate classes.
Citizen science projects allow nonscientists — including students pursuing any career path — to collaborate in posing research questions, gathering data, analysis, data visualization and sharing conclusions. NC State is a leader in the field of citizen science and our campus offers many, although perhaps invisible, opportunities for students and faculty to benefit from this growing strength.
Every NC State student should have the chance to experience authentic science: that is our vision. This think tank offers faculty across the university an opportunity to learn what others have been doing, find out about available resources, and brainstorm the pluses and minuses of incorporating citizen science into different curricula.
As an instructor, scholar, and mentor at NC State, your input will be invaluable. Come learn what citizen science at the university level can look like, and help identify areas that need further support.
